Money Talks

Actually, nothing much to say. Photo says 1000 of words. I was there around in the hotel lobby when lady came to pay for her room, Penthouse rented for few days. I use to see many times that people paying “big money” by their credit cards, butfirst time to see that big amount of money to be paid by cash.Money Payment And I was not surprised,  I worked in that hotel few years and sow millions going around ( 5*, 400 rooms, for EID or New Year room is not less than 500 USD per night),It’s Dubai, but when I saw the way this lady throw money on the desk, I was like wt*. I’m probably working, hmmm, big time for that amount. I mean someone earn that much for entire life in Bosnia, Serbia, Africa ,,,also in UK and USA I’m sure some people never see that much money.
And she was just like, don’t know. when you go to the shop and buy chocolate. You know, like it’s nothing, it’s just paper.
And then I started thinking. I become sad. I was thinking what if this amount is given to 10 different families. Man their entire life would change. They could eat, go to school, do some regular stuff which the are not able to do because they have no food, no water, no money…
Yeah. A night in Penthouse it’s 15.000 AED/Night (3000 Euro exactly), and that lady, she booked for 9 nights. Man, it’s almost 30.000 Euro.
So let’s check this way. Aprox. Salary in Serbia, Bosnia, Ukraine and many “second line” countries in Europe is 400 Euro a Month. Yes.
So that people need to work aprox. 6 years for this amount. And they have to live from that money, eat, send kids to the school, pay taxes, medicine, bills… My God.
Imagine India,Nepal or Philippines. That amount, as per my Indian friend, he need 13 years to earn that much money. 13 years!
And she will just sleep in the room for 9 nights, even she lives just 45 minutes somewhere away in big villa.
Look, I’m nit judging people who spend that money, not judging this lady, but just thinking loud and putting that things here. It’s just not fer.
They have, they can…But,…no but, that’s how it is….

Grandpa’s Toboggan

It’s always good feeling to visit grandparents, specially if they live in the village.

Our grandparentIMG_8031s are nearly 80, but they still have a good sense of humor and it’s always a pleasure spending time with them.

This is a short story about our grandpa’s “toboggan”

It’s been our tradition passing from generation to generation, started nearly 50 years ago with my mother and uncle. Later on, about 35 years ago passed on to my sister, near to 30 years ago to myself and now-days to my sister’s wonderful kiddo!

Grandpa always wanted to make kids happy, and the best part is when he removes the door from the base-frame and lean the door to the sofa-bed “downhill” creating a “toboggan”

So back in the days we use to do so, now my nephew is so happy to run all way up to the top, and then to slide down playing like that for hours.

And always you can hear my grandma saying the same:”That’s enough, you will damage the door” 🙂
But honestly, it was never enough. Looking at my nephew, memories are coming back…

Bonny Always Wants More

Meet Bonny.

That cute small adorable Maltese who always wants all of yours attention.

The other day I was playing Play Station when Bonny came next to me and kept asking to cuddle him.

Whenever I stopped , he pooled my hand and asked for more.

And than I pretend that I farted, and Bonny hates when someone farting,

When he hears annoying noise of for him, he make that strange look.

There is a lot of more stories and photos of Bonny, trust me you gonna love him 🙂

I’ll post more soon.

Chasing the Sunset

Made this photo during our visit to Istanbul.

Is not necessary to talk a lot about the city, I believe most of the people knows how wonderful city is.

What impressed me are the sunsets in Istanbul.

During sunset the sky become magic. But really magic, with a lot of different colors.

One afternoon I’ve decides to go a bit up to hill to capture this beautiful sunset.

My wife Emma, she was running after me, begging me to stop 🙂 (photographers would understand) 🙂

But i was going up to hill more and more until I realize that I may miss it. The magic moment doesn’t last forever. It last only for 30 to 45 seconds.

And that’s where I took the shoot.

For sure one of my favorite photos.

Nature Power – Sand Storm Dubai

Today I would like to share with you few photos taken earlier this morning in Dubai, U.A.E

I’ve been here few years already and never saw this big desert storm.

The entire city collapsed.

Flight got delayed or canceled. The report said it was over 135 car accidents.

People who are on vacation here having difficult times since they all paid a lot of money, and all they can do is to spend a day in shopping malls where is very crowded since everyone is there.

One of the biggest problems is to get a taxi. Imagine over 20.000 ppl who should be at the beach or by the pool today, they all want to go to shopping malls, so everyone needs a taxy…And to get one, you have to wait like an hour.

What a interesting day.

Just a “small warning” from the Nature. Have a look at the photos.

OPPORTUNITY NEVER KNOCKS TWICE

Company had open position for “Sales Executive” and management decided to have “open day” for interview in order to hire new employee.

There was around 30 candidates and everyone believed that he/she is the right candidate for opened position.

All candidates were well educated and experienced, faced already trick such as “Sell to me this pen.”

When someone tells you:”Sell me this pen…” you should not think a lot. You don’t have to plan strategy and big story, you should simply take piece of paper and ask person opposite you to sign the paper… And that’t it. Trick is so old, showed already in some movies as well, and almost every sales person knows about it.

But this time management went one step further.

After regular intro and presentation, manager started joking, telling different stories and made all candidates relaxed.
At certain moment manager slides the presentation screen and following appeared:
OLD CHINES QUOTE SAYS-机不可失,时不再来 and behind it was a smiley like this 😀

success

So everybody started laughing. Everyone but one guy who suddenly took his mobile phone and clicked a photo of the screen.

After that he left the room where the presentation was ongoing.
Manager looked after him shortly, but very next moment he continued the presentation.

7-10 minutes later the candidate who left the room came back and said loud:”OPPORTUNITY NEVER KNOCKS TWICE!”

Everybody looked at him!

He repeated:”Opportunity never knocks twice!”
Interviewer asked him to explain, and candidate said:”That’s the meaning of the Chines Quote from the screen. That’s my opportunity. I took a photo and went immediately to “Panda-Chines Restaurant” in front of the building, asked the Chef about meaning, and he translated the quote to me. He said there are two meanings. Other one is “NOW OR NEVER!”

That moment interview manager said that meeting is over, everybody can go, but not him, the guy who was repeating:”Opportunity never knocks twice!”
Most of the candidates were surprised, however everyone left the room.

The candidate get a job!

So, truth is, you never know where the next opportunity is going to come from! But better be ready.

Is not easy to be successful, otherwise everybody would be!
Young man told me few days ago that someone teach him that only way to be successful is to be the best in what he does. Even for example if you are just a bell boy at the hotel, the only way to grow is to be the best bell boy, best concierge, best reception…to the best General Manager.

Never Give Up!

Happy Weekend

Question of the day is:”When it was last time that you treated yourself and person you love the way you deserve to be treated!?”

I mean, nothing much, just a simple one. Quiet place, at the beach, in the forest, near to the lake, cheap fast food meal, switched off mobile phone, disconnected WiFi or 3G, and only two of you in different dimension. Table for two, or just a two towels. But your own world, created by your love. Talk about future, about past, about positive things, about love…7

Forget about office, about job, about credit card you have to pay, about car loan, about problems in the world…

Treat your self and person you love!

Remember, if you don’t treat yourself the way you deserve, no one else will do!

So get ready for the weekend. Surprise your partner with something new, small but nice gift, just a rose, organize a “getaway picnic” and enjoy!
HAPPY WEEKEND!
